- Is Pally free?
- Yes. Pally is free to use. Just message "hi" on WhatsApp to get started.
- Do I need to download an app?
- No. Pally works entirely inside WhatsApp — no new app, no new login, no extra permissions. Scan the QR code or message "hi" and you're set up in seconds.
- Is my data private?
- Yes. Your chats use WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption. Every file you send — receipts, documents, photos — is stored in your own Google Drive, not ours. Pally only accesses its own Pally folder, and you can delete your data anytime by asking.
- How do I track an expense?
- Type it, like "spent 6 on coffee", or snap a photo of the receipt. Pally reads it, categorises it, and logs it in about a second. It supports USD, SGD, EUR, GBP, JPY and INR, tracked separately.
- Can I share lists with my family?
- Yes. Tag a family member or flatmate, for example "purchase milk @Sarah", and the item instantly appears on both lists. You both get the morning and evening digest. See shared lists.
- Does Pally work on Telegram?
- Pally is live on WhatsApp today. Telegram support is coming soon.
- What file types can I send?
- PDFs, images, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ZIP and text files. They're auto-classified and filed into your Google Drive. More on filing receipts to Drive.
- How do I get a file back?
- Type "get" plus anything you remember — a name, date or keyword — and Pally sends back a tap-to-open Drive link.
